Happy mother's day!

Family pic taken after church today. The kid's mother's day gift to me- they were SO GOOD at church!

After today, I think mother's day is going to become one of my favourite days of the year! I had mentioned to Joe that all I wanted for mother's day, was a day off from my motherly duties... a little ironic, I know. But I thought that my new camera and laptop could wait ;).
When I suggested a 'motherly duty day off', I thought i'd get away with a little sleep in, a nice long shower, and maybe get out of preparing one of the three meals- that would have been plenty! But luckily I didn't tell Joe that. ;)

Today, I got all that and more! It's been so lovely to sit back, relax, have an afternoon nap (!!!), not lift a finger all day long, and not feel guilty about it! Even as we speak, I'm blogging away and enjoying the silence in my room, all whilst Joe handles the 'peak hour' around here that is the dinner/bedtime routine. Isn't he wonderful!

Joe is seriously the most considerate and sweetest thing! I'm grateful for his mother, who obviously raised him so well (shout out to you Gerry :). He mentioned earlier that he felt bad that he hadn't gotten me a gift. I immediately responded with... "what could possibly be better than a wonderful and relaxing, care-free, cleaning-free, cooking-free, dishes-free, child minding-free, head ache-free,
STRESS-free day?!" Thank-you Joseph for the BEST GIFT ever!

The only thing that could possibly make it any better, is that maybe next year we can do a mother's day
weekend (friday night/saturday included)... you know, like we do for our birthdays! Just saying. :)

Here are some highlights...

Making me some delicious triple choc muffins!
Note Noah's "hat"-subject of one of my future posts.

There's nothing sexier than a man baking in an apron! ;)
Joe made a tasty spaghetti bolognese for dinner.

ps. I can't help but notice that Joe is looking a little more tired than usual... hehehe :)
I'm sure i'll be feeling the same come father's day!
