Life with two

Things are about to change BIG time around here. Baby no.3 will be here any day now (lets hope it's soon)  and it will no longer just be these two little munchkins...

So I wanted to write a post about what life with two is like at the moment, so that I can look back as to how it was with just my El belle and Buddy...

So my life with two goes a little like this:

  • We usually start our day around 7am. Lately because of summer, sometimes it can start as early as 6am!
  • We eat breakfast together and then the kids play (or fight )while I tidy up and do some chores. Then I put on a dvd or ABC kids and they enjoy a morning tea, while I excersise. In the winter, when we could venture out and not melt in the heat, the kids and I would take a walk to the park every morning and have morning tea there... I MISS those days.
  • On Thurdays and Fridays Noah and I would take El to kindy and attend doctor appointments on those days.
  • Every other day, after lunch, we have lately been heading out to Mc Donalds for a play in the playground since its too hot to take them to a real playground. They also enjoy a soft serve ice-cream, while I (on occasion) enjoy their new chocolate frappes... yum!
  • In the afternoons we then run some errands like shopping or do something fun like go to the local library, pool or dam or dance lessons. But if I'm not feeling like chasing them around the place with a big belly, or it's just too hot to even move, then we have "quiet" time at home and put on a dvd or read books while they have a small afternoon tea.
  • Later, while the kids play (or fight) I prepare dinner and eagerly await daddy's arrival.
  • In the evenings after our 5-5:30 dinner, we wind down and start getting  ready for bed- shower, PJ's, teeth brushing, books, drink of milk or water, potty then it's 7pm and that means...BED! Hallelujah! Then we do it all over again the next day. :)

I wonder how much of that routine will change? With a new bub and El starting school, I'm sure there will be a lot of adjustments and I'm going to think back to these days and think how much easier life with two was, even though right now it sometimes seems so darn difficult.
It's a weird feeling. I'm so excited to meet my new little baby boy and just want him to hurry up and come already. But on the other hand, I also want to savour these last days with just  my two munchkins and hold on to what we have for as long as possible. However, at this point and 4 days overdue, I think I'm ready for the challenge. It can only get better... right?

So come on baby boy...COME OUT! Please. Just look how much fun you could be having with these two...

They're sure eager to meet you!

  1. oh, you are sure gonna miss those times with your only two monkeys, but also love the addition to the family and the new things you'll all get to enjoy. I'm not saying its all easy and fun and games, but as soon as you have some kind of routine down, it will be easier. Love those kiddies of yours and I can't wait to see my new little nephew.
