My Oompa Loompas

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the original version) is such a classic! I have so many memories of watching this movie over and over as a kid, especially when I was home from school "sick."Joe and I had been trying to find it at the video shop for ages . El was also so curious to see who the 'Veruka' girl was, as Joe and I would often say "You're acting like Veruka!" when she would act demanding and selfish. :)

Well, I can tell you that for a whole week straight during El's school holidays, all that the kids wanted to watch was "Willy Wonka..." and all they wanted to sing was "Oompa loompa oompa-di-doo..." and of course, it was accompanied by the dance...

A month later, we're all still chanting that catchy "oompa loompa oomph-di-doo, I got another puzzle for you..." tune (apologies if it's in your head now :)
Oh, and El did think 'Veruka' looked so silly acting the way she did, and doesn't want to look or be like her (I know right, I should totally write a "How to..." parenting book). And yes, just like i'm sure we all did, they also walked away (or  pressed fast forward) during the "Cheer up Charlie..." song. :)
