Why call pest control, when I have Elly?

This morning, one of the worst things imaginable happened to me. It's almost as bad as the time a gecko fell from the ceiling and onto my face, near my mouth- as I laid in bed one morning. But today was worst.

As I sat at the kitchen table and while on the computer, I felt something go up my pants. I stopped to investigate and found nothing. A little while later, I felt something agian and a little higher. So I quickly jumped out of my seat, took my pants off and watched a massive (no exaggeration) cockroach fall out!

Of course, I handled the situation like any woman would... I screamed so loud while jumping around all over the place in my undies! Lovely imaginary, I know. El and Noah both ran up to see what on earth was happening and looked puzzled to see me jumping up and down the place- half naked... obviously it's not something I do everyday.

El asked me what had happened, and I told her  that the almost squashed cocky on the floor- that I only half managed to get with my shoe, had gone up my pants. El responded to my horrific experience with "Oh my gosh! That is so weird. I've never had a cocky up my pants!" You don't say Elly. Well I can assure you, I've never had one up my pants before today either. She than added "Oh mum, I'm going to tell everyone at kindy!"- I'm not surprised, she often uses awkward family situations as a basis for her 'show and tells.'

However, her next action did surprise me a little. She walked over to the cockroach and when she discovered that it was not quite dead, takes her shoe off and starts finishing off the job I didn't quite get done. The next thing I hear is her saying " Oh my gosh! It's not working! This cocky must be magic! Nothings' working! It's not dead! I can't see it's blood!" all while she continues to smash the thing with her shoe! Hmmm.... should I be concerned??? I'm certain El wouldn't do that to a cute little butterfly or lady bug. But anyway, aren't little innocent 4 year old girls supposed to be afraid of big, yucky, gross cockroaches? Or is it just big, mature 28 year old's that are afraid and wouldn't go near the things? Oh well, this morning I was just glad to have my tough little pest control girl Elly here to do the job.
